‘What’s next?’- A question uttered by many graduates looking at the ‘big bad world’ after what might be the biggest achievement in their lives so far. For some, the path for progress is clear, but for some it isn’t. For some opportunities and options are plenty, whilst for others its a daunting, steep climb.
How will you serve the world?
In his commencement speech to the Graduates of MUM class of 2014, Actor, director and producer Jim Carrey delivered a series of deeply profound and inspiring advice on human progress and the decision making process we undergo everyday, and particularly in this case, after graduation. Told through a fusion of moving anecdotes with typical, hilarious Jim Carrey comical delivery known and loved the world over – Jim focuses on his sense of purpose in the world and how he aspired to serve the people in it – making it one of the most admired and talked about commencement speeches on the internet.
fear is going to be a player in your life, but you get to decide how much. you can spend your whole life imagining ghosts, worrying about the pathway to the future but all that there will ever be is what’s happening here in the decisions we make in this moment, which are based in either love or fear.
So many of us choose our paths out of fear disguised as practicality.
what we want seems impossibly out of reach and ridiculous to expect so we never dare to ask the universe for it.
